Jo Bowden

HoBoJoBo lives in Brighton where she enjoys drawing, making & tweeting whilst fuelling her unhealthy obsession with tea. To date she has provided a variety of graphic designs and illustrations for publications, events and websites for a wide range of briefs. HoBoJoBo started out tracing Jamie Hewlett and manga versions of her favourite bands and accumulating an assured knowledge of design and artistic disciplines. Taking influence from graffiti, Gerhard Richter, manga and everyday design she uses bold colours, crafts and abstract concepts to create original and engaging pieces.

Jo has experience using Creative Suite specifically Illustrator, InDesign and PhotoShop as well as more traditional methods. Projects so far have ranged from graphics to textiles and drawing to 3D manipulation, she has also been commissioned for logos and promotional material. As an artist she is happy to work to particular briefs but relishes the chance to be spontaneous and use her imagination.

In her spare time HoBoJoBo loves watching & discussing films, talking politics and experiencing live music preferably in a field owned by Michael Eavis. Her dream projects are to create a character for a Pixar or Studio Ghibli film and to design album artwork for music that she loves. Jo is a founding member of the Brighton based arts group C'LECTIVE and also works with other groups and charities in line with her political beliefs. HoBoJoBo is taller than the Statue of Liberty's nose.
